Second Influence

Sojourner Truth is the greatest American because she was a black freedom fighter and also worked to gain woman’s rights. Sojourner Truth was born into slavery and was freed when she was 32. At this time she worked restlessly to free her people and her son. After freeing her son she started working to get woman’s rights. She was a very powerful speaker and held a conference with president Ulysses S. Grant and the congress members. At this conference she spoke about woman’s rights. When she was finished she got a standing ovation by the president and also all the congress members.
