First Influence

Sojourner truth is the greatest American not only because she worked restlessly to free slaves and worked to win woman’s rights, she was a very powerful speaker. One example of her being a powerful speaker is when she said the “And Ain’t I a Woman” speech. According to the article "Sojourner Truth's and Ain’t I a Woman Speech" found in the Student Resource Center-Gold. This article says that when she was giving this speech there were mostly men in the audience. When she concluded her speech almost all the men in the audience gave her a standing ovation and made them think about what they were doing by discriminating woman. She also had many more speeches that were very powerful and changed the minds of many people. She is easily the greatest American.
