Sojourner Truth was a very unique woman. One of the interesting facts about Truth is that she was 6 foot 2 inches! Truth was also stronger then most men at this time! Sojourner was often mistaken for a man. When she was little and in slavery she only spoke Dutch but learned English later on. She fell in love with another slave named Robert, both Sojourner and Robert’s owners forbid they be together. Sojourner and Robert did not care. Robert and Sojourner had two kids. Robert was caught with Sojourner and was beaten to death by his owner. While she was a young slave she was bought and sold 4 times and was beaten. In 1843 Sojourner claimed she spoke to God when he told her to change her name from Isabella to Sojourner. Also, in 1871 she was the first woman ever to vote in the Michigan State election. These were only a few of the many interesting facts about Sojourner Truth.

I actually think this African- American woman Sojourner Truth was really then truth. She struggled growing up. Born into slavery, but she was never the only one. Some of you people make think you had it rough, but the thought of this woman and other people born into slavery had to risk their lives being slaves and women getting raped by these white mans and on their knees cleaning floors , our black men being beaten by these white mens. White people now a days trys to make our black society look bad, but what they don't know is that they're the bad ones, This is why black people shall stop killing their own kind and get along with all. I'm not saying they should kill the whites. But whites and blacks need to join hands and realize we are all family.
